How to Beat Food Waste With Creativity at home

I think I don’t have to make people more aware of the fact that food waste is a huge problem in the world. Actually, I don’t understand how people can waste so much food. Working in restaurants and food producing companies, it has become clear to me how much food is being wasted, and for what reason? Probably because it will take more effort and time, and thus money, to get rid of it in another way than binning it. I can’t fix this problem by writing this post, but I think many people at home throw away stuff that they could perfectly use the next day. When I look at my own habits, I really don’t waste a lot, maybe a core of my apple, but left overs, NEVER!

A Foodie Exploring Sydney: Amazing Donuts at Short Stop

Everybody loves donuts, duuh. But these!? These are to die for. Even th(d)ough they call themselves Short Stop, I woulnd’t mind spending a whole day eating their donuts. I didn’t plan to go here, but the donut wall starred at me while I walked by. I first went for coffee, sat down and half an hour later I still was highly convinced I deserved a donut that day. Ok, maybe two donuts, even after I had ice cream less than an hour before.

A Foodie Exploring Sydney: Honey Creme

Finally, I had some free time in my schedule and enough energy in my body to go outside and enjoy the sun. I have been working a lot lately to save up as much money as I can. It leaves me tired and not in the mood to go outside, but I choose for that at the moment. Because I have a goal! Last week it was a wonderful day in Sydney, the winter temperatures had risen above 20 degrees and the sun was burning. Sunday Lunch Toast with Asparagus and Poached Eggs

Since I started working in Sydney, I know how much Ozzies love their Avo on toast with some poached eggs or vegemite. Walk into any cafe and there will be avo toast on the menu, plus, it will probably be the most popular dish in the venue. So after working in the cafe, where I poached 16 eggs, I went to my other job, where they kindly asked me to poach some more eggs. Basic Recipe For The Best Dutch Pancake

When I was a little girl, it was pancake day every saturday. Nowadays people often make pancakes with a mixture they buy in the supermarket, which I really don’t understand. I mean how hard can it be to mix, eggs, milk, salt and flour together. Yes folks, that is all you need! Today I will share the recipe I have learnt from my dad and he learnt it from my grandma, so I scale this one under the heading ‘family recipes’! Sorry that I give the secret recipe price, dad, but I need to help people out there that don’t know how to make pancakes from scratch.
