Finally, I had some free time in my schedule and enough energy in my body to go outside and enjoy the sun. I have been working a lot lately to save up as much money as I can. It leaves me tired and not in the mood to go outside, but I choose for that at the moment. Because I have a goal! Last week it was a wonderful day in Sydney, the winter temperatures had risen above 20 degrees and the sun was burning. It made me decide to go outside and explore some foodie hotspots in Sydney, starting off with a new ice cream place called ‘ Honey Creme’, located at Goulburn St.
Since I started working in Sydney, I know how much Ozzies love their Avo on toast with some poached eggs or vegemite. Walk into any cafe and there will be avo toast on the menu, plus, it will probably be the most popular dish in the venue. So after working in the cafe, where I poached 16 eggs, I went to my other job, where they kindly asked me to poach some more eggs. Happy to have a nice free Sunday, my brain missed the poaching so much, that I even did some in my spare time, for me myself and I!
When I was a little girl, it was pancake day every saturday. Nowadays people often make pancakes with a mixture they buy in the supermarket, which I really don’t understand. I mean how hard can it be to mix, eggs, milk, salt and flour together. Yes folks, that is all you need! Today I will share the recipe I have learnt from my dad and he learnt it from my grandma, so I scale this one under the heading ‘family recipes’! Sorry that I give the secret recipe price, dad, but I need to help people out there that don’t know how to make pancakes from scratch.
I love markets! Most of the times I don’t even buy things, but I just love to make a stroll around the stands with collectors items, books and pre loved clothing. Last sunday I went to the Rozelle Collecters Market in Sydney and what a nice one this is! Lovely music playing, a nice amount of stands that are all well worth nosing about. The sun was shining and then it was time for lunch!
Why not mix a bunch of great food to create an even greater snack!? I love nachos. Cheese, guacamole, sour creme, more cheese, I mean, what is there not to like. Only problem? I didn’t have the base, no nacho chips in my pentry… No worries! This sweet potato over here will do just fine!
