As we were driving towards the main road again, we slowly saw a still car getting closer. I remember how Riina started saying: ‘Oh No…” At first I didn’t see the problem, but soon enough I realised what this meant. When we approached, we saw a proper river over the road. The road was no longer accessible.
And there it was. The Perth skyline, rising up above the never-ending roads. This road, however, meant the end for us. The end of the road trip. We would still be together until the flights home, but there was no more road to drive. The answer to the question: ‘ Where are you’s heading?’ was no longer ‘Perth’. It will be ‘home’ from now on.
Can’t believe it has been a year. I remember the day I hugged my parents goodbye at Schiphol Airport. It feels like yesterday. So far I still don’t know when I will be back. Could be in a couple of months, but who knows. I’ll just see how I feel day by day and of course how my bank account looks 🙂
A lot has changed since my last update, I know, It has been a while, so it is gonna be a long read for you guys. Woops, sorry… After working my ass off the past three months, I am finally back on the road! It all didn’t really go as smooth as planned, but I am so damn happy about my current ware bouts. After a bit of tossing and turning I decided to buy my own van for the rest of my travels. It was a bit of a decision, because I don’t know shit about cars.
It has been a long while since I wrote my last story. Nothing much exciting has happened really. Well, now I am writing this down and think about what has been going on, I think it might sound exciting to you guys back home, living their normal, everyday life. I am back in Australia, found a home to live, and have been living and cycling around Sydney for about two and a half months now.
