Finally! I can bake again! After months of travelling without having a proper kitchen, I am glad to be able to cook again. I gained a lot of inspiration and wrote down all the ideas I had while travelling, which made me end up with a giant list. Today I started baking again, by making this very easy, no bake chocolate & pear tart with a Dutch twist! A perfect autumn recipe!
Nope, still not done with the “Kruidnoten”. Because of the fact that they are delicious in everything, I made Caramel & Kruidnoot Brownies! I used my home made cookies from the previous post, but you could as well use store bought kruidnoten (if you’re from Holland of course, otherwise you have to bake them youselves or use other cookies).
Yummmm carrot cake! I don’t know how it is un your country, but in Holland every time someone brings a carrot cake, the famous joke about the rabbit at the bakery comes along. I just hadn’t had carrot cake for such a long time, so I decided to make one for my collegues (and for me 🙂 ) because it was my last day of work before my big travls. And a nice thing about carrot cake is that it contains a lot of carrot, so you can always use that as an excuse to eat another piece (of course don’t mention the amount of sugar and the amout of butter and the frosting).
As a die-hard coconut-addict, I am always searching for the best recipes with coconut. I eat it in my breakfast yoghurt, cookies, pie, very variance with a cocounut flavour is my favourite. Last sunday, I had dinner with my family and grandparents. Super nice to cook a three course meal for these lovely people. For dessert I made this coconut and lime tart. Especially the base is yummi! So if you happen to hate coconut (don’t know if that is possible), you can try this base for any other creamy cheesecake-like tart.
When I started to make these last night I didn’t know what I would actually be making. The result how ever turned out to be more of a semi sweet dessert! It is the perfect combination between th salty goat cheese and the sweet figs and sauce.
